Intrepid gumshoe Nick Moss of City of Devils and Fifty Feet of Trouble fame (well, notoriety) is a WWII veteran, a Night War survivor, the last human PI left in LA. In his latest hardboiled outing, Nick heads into the (were)wolves’ den: the fearsome LAPD, a-slither with corruption, snitches, politicking, and vendettas. Nick is searching for a shadowy monster slayer, for an invisible man with dangerous info who, well, vanished…and for a killer of talented human beauties—while trying to avoid being turned or killed outright by powerful monsters, some of whom are his employers or their lieutenants. But Nick’s uneasy past further complicates matters, as he discovers that nothing remains confidential in the City of Devils.

The giveaway will run from start of October 5 to end of October 30 EST, and random winners will be picked to receive a maximum of three print copies of the novel. For up to 200 requests, there will be one award copy. For up to 400 requests, two copies; and beyond that, three copies. We will contact the winners to request addresses when the giveaway is completed.

Sounds really interesting and different. Usually it’s the supernatural creatures that are ridiculed and shunned in magical realism universes. I most definitely want to check out the dynamic between humans and so-called ” monsters” when the traditional roles are reversed!
